Wild Food
Yesterday we researched the safety precautions for foraging. We found a range of plants that can be eaten safely and give us nutrients.
Today in Forest Schools, we identified a range of plants and sketched the ones we wanted to identify. The smell of wild garlic, as we walked through Bishop’s Gate, filled the air. We all enjoyed a game of ‘One, two, three… I see’. There were some very interested hiding places.
When we came back to school, we decided to plant some edible plants around the school grounds. As we were working in small groups, this gave us the opportunity to be creative and draw some flowers with chalk in our creative area. We finished our day by tasting some daisy tea.
It was a full day with loads of opportunity for learning, creativity and good fun!
