As an Eco-committee, we would like you to get involved in ‘The Big Walk and Wheel’ starting from Monday. This is the new name for the ‘Big Pedal’ event run by Sustrans.
We would love to encourage everyone to enjoy some form of active travel over the next two weeks. Posters have been made for each class. The Eco-committee will collect the results from each class every morning. These results are uploaded daily and if we have more than 15 percent who have engaged in an active journey to school, we will have a chance of winning some huge prizes for the school.
Active journeys are not only good for our environment but they have been proven to increase attention span and help with learning in the classroom.
The event will run for two weeks and on the last Friday which is 1st April we will have a special walking bus for April Fools’ Day when you can dress up in a funny outfit.
We hope you are able to engage with this event and enjoy soaking in the fresh air in the morning. Remember to wear your Hi-viz jackets and stay safe.
