Today in Downhill Forest we were learning about fire safety; different methods of lighting fires; natural sources of tinder; identifying hardwoods and softwoods; and setting a range of fire lays for different purposes. The children showed some great teamwork. When we came back to school, we lit a campfire and enjoyed a little treat to finish.
